Hello, Nice to meet you.

Stack the Deck for Vet's

I am interested in connecting with people authentically.

I appreciate integrity, creativity and aliveness. I have lived a wide and varied life and look forward to much more of it.

I am the mother of two teenagers, an 18 year old son and a 16 year old girl. I am from Fayetteville, Arkansas. I now live in Boulder, Colorado a place I feel a true kinship with.

Currently, I write for scientists, helping them edit their research for NOAA's National Centers of Environmental Information website. I enjoy the interplay of personalities and content. Editing is a natural gift for me.

In September 2023, I completed a Ceremonial Arts Course that spanned Solstice to Solstice at the Starhouse, a modern day temple in Boulder. I now have a priestess certificate. I can bless houses, babies, guide threshold crossings, even marry you if you like.
I have always been fascinated by spirituality. I possess a curious mind that seeks enlightenment on a huge variety of topics; dowsing, ley lines, astrology, tarot, space/sun weather and how it affects our planet... Cathars, Essenes, Gnostics and Mary Magdalene.

I love art and spent the majority of my working years between the art and fashion worlds.

I was a principle of an art gallery ~ being married to the artist, Christopher H. Martin - we grew his business through locations on Madison Avenue, Santa Fe, Las Angeles, Aspen, and Dallas. Traveling from the Venice Bienale to  Art Miami, Growing from $60,000 to $4 million a year over 23 years. It was a full easel.  (www.christophermartingallery.com)

I found great satisfaction in being a muse to Christopher and building our collector base. Inspiring bodies of work, naming and concepting the paintings, organizing shows, and gallery parties to promote his work were my favorite contributions.

I handled the editing for all gallery communications - invitations, press releases, editing outside interviews, and writing my own version of events to allow people a window into his creative world. You'll find them here as writing samples on the Writing Page. Hosting a great evening for our clients was a key to building loyal collectors. Though we are divorced, I enjoyed fostering growth and building a prosperous entity.

Prior to those years, I
travelled Europe and the states as a model for 15 years - reveling in runway, editorial, and commercial work. Being on a fashion set, or backstage at a runway show are two of my favorite places to be.  My nickname of 35 years is Smiley Jo Jackson ~ given to me in my modeling days ~ not for frowning.

In 2008, I had an idea for a non-profit to mobilize the fashion and film industries to do charitable projects, "Model Citizen." As Founder, it was gratifying when our first projects were well received.

Stack the Deck for Vets was an all volunteer shoot.  We produced a deck of cards in the style of modern pinups to be sent to soldiers at the front.  It raised over $20,000 for Veteran Charities. Blues Traveler played the inaugural Stack the Deck Event.

Accessible Luxury was an all volunteer runway fashion show to benefit Texas Scottish Rite's Children's Hospital.
Held in the Park Place Bentley, McLaren, Porsche, Maserati and Mercedes Dealership, the show drew purveyors of all things luxury from jewels to food and fashion. Oscar De La Renta was one of the headline fashion lines to grace the runway.  The show became a highly anticipated fund ~raising evening in the Hospital's repertoire raising well over $250,000 over the years. Produced by former model, Harriet Kelly, the shows were a huge success.

When it comes to fun, dancing, skiing, or snorkeling and are favorites.
I am a sometime poet and an avid photographer.  I love taking sacred portraits that capture a person's or an animal's essence. I am working on a children's book about buffalo with my cousin, Thia Martin, who is a spectacular illustrator. We are hoping to launch, "Trace of The Buffalo" Fall of 2024. Next stop, watching the baby buffalo being born in Yellowstone this June.

Thank you for taking the time to read my work.

I wish you the all good things,

Stacie ~
